Astonishingly brilliant instrumentalists Joe Scott and Hannah Alkire are the duo Acoustic Eidolon. Their unique sound is created by mixing classical music with folk on their unusual instrumentation, featuring the one-of-a-kind double necked guitjo, an instrument of Joe’s own design praised by USA Today as a “beautiful harp-like sounding instrument ... like nothing they’ve ever heard before.” Their music makes use of influences from Celtic, bluegrass, and Latin music, and in 2001, their musical partnership blossomed into love as they took the plunge and tied the knot.
In January 1999, Hannah was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’.s lymphoma and underwent chemotherapy and radiation until August of 2000. During that time, she continued to play with Joe almost daily, and found that Eidolon was a real lifeline during this challenging time. In August of 2008, Hannah will celebrate her eight--year cancer-free anniversary. And we are thrilled to celebrate, even if a bit late, this milestone with her!
Joe & Hannah have performed in every state of this country as well as many European countries but never seemed to make it to Rhode Island until last year for our concert! An evening not to be missed and all to benefit the important programs of Rhode Islands free nonprofit center dedicated to the support of women with all cancers.                                                                           www.acousticeidolon.com
